01 Statement

A renovation studio that treats every interior as a problem of proportion, light, and use.

Studio Prostir (the word means space) works from a small atelier on Velyka Vasylkivska Street in Kyiv. We design and oversee home renovations where the first decision is always proportion: how rooms connect, where daylight enters, which walls can move and which must stay.

Forty completed projects since 2016, from a 38 m² studio in Podil to a 210 m² family house in Sviatoshyn. Each renovation follows the same four stages: measure, draw, specify, build. Materials are fixed with named suppliers, solid oak with oil finish by Carpathian Workshop and lime wash by Bauwerk Colour, so that what you approve on paper is what arrives on site.

Process

Four phases from first conversation to final handover

  1. 01

    Consultation

    We meet on-site or virtually to understand the space, daily routines, and renovation goals. You receive a preliminary scope summary within five business days. Estimates are preliminary and subject to detailed project assessment.

  2. 02

    Design

    Layouts, material selections, and finish schedules are developed with named suppliers: solid oak, oil finish from Carpathian Workshop, lime wash from Bauwerk Colour. Two revision rounds are included before final approval.

  3. 03

    Construction

    Licensed trades execute demolition, structural work, and finishes under weekly site supervision. You receive progress photos and a shared schedule updated every Friday throughout the build.

  4. 04

    Handover

    A final walkthrough, punch list, and care guide for every installed material. We remain available for questions during the first six months after completion at no additional cost.
